The Selfishness Paradigm – Video Series
I think it was back in September that I invited readers to take a look at the video series that I recorded for ARtv (Adventist Review TV). I had expected the series would be released shortly after that post. I was quite wrong. The series of six video was not released until today. So I again invite you to take a look at them. You may even want to share them, as the series is designed to speak to people who are thinkers – who are analytic – and who have rejected God or who have a very casual and uncommitted relationship with Him. Watch the series and let me know what you think in the comments section. You can see the videos here.

Wow! Beautifully crafted and presented. A wonderful witnessing tool. Could have listened to more for hours!!
Thank you, Sinead, for your kind comment. There will probably be a “Part II” to this about halfway through next year, though that schedule is very much speculative at this point.
Good morning Scott,
Thank you, and ARtv, for this series. I was reminded of Ellen’s statement, “It is the love of self that destroys our peace.”, a truth which, it seems, can be applied, both individually, and collectively regarding the growing distress of the planet. I found your use of the soil sample to introduce, and to summerize, was powerful. Tragically, it appears that the ‘Selfishness Paradigm’ is gaining popularity, and momentum in all quarters, so praying for God’s blessing on you, this presentation, and all who see it.

Rus! So great to hear from you!
The role of selfishness as an organizing principle in our current twisted version of nature and in all the institutions of man is one that is startling once you intentionally look for it. I have been thinkin on this for a while and it seems to me that selfishness and the destruction of our world through sin are inextricably linked. At the same time, I find that many Christians are perfectly happy to be very much aligned with the selfishness paradigm, so I am doing all I can to shout about this. THANK YOU for your prayers!
There you are GIVING away the valuable information and knowledge. An unselfish move in a selfish world. I just finished watching the first one and I like it. Portland Headlight still remains one of my favorite places on earth and seeing it on screen like that was wonderful!
Something you say above is this series is “designed to speak to people who are thinkers – who are analytic – and who have rejected God or who have a very casual and uncommitted relationship with Him.” Thinkers, yes. Those who are ambivalent, yes. But for those who have rejected God, using the Bible right at the outset, it may not appeal. I believe those who have rejected God haven’t rejected Him as he is but a caricature of Him. You do address this but if I’ve rejected God, there’s a huge chance I’ve also rejected His authority found in scripture. Therefore, it will have less influence over what I hear and ultimately my decisions. Of course I haven’t seen the whole series and I’ll respond again after seeing it.
Also, you might update your profile photo because, wow, who’s pictured on this site isn’t quite the same person in the videos!
Mike! So good to hear from you!
Your comments are insightful, and I appreciate them. There is an opportunity developing to work with ARtv to produce a series for commercial TV, and I’m looking for ways to position that series so that it appeals to a broad spectrum but also engages skeptics. That is a tough hurdle to get over, and perhaps your comments are helping me better define that narrow path.
God Bless!
Scott
It is one of the best things I have ever seen. I wish it would go on and on. It made me so happy, I felt like I was already taken over into the Millennium, watching God sort out all flesh that had corrupted itself upon the Earth.
