“It Feels Like The End Of The World”
At one time, I posted four or five times a week. I post much less now, not because of a lack of material, but because I feel like I’ve said everything five or six times, and I have a deeply ingrained aversion to repeating myself. But once in a while one or two things come along that are so on-point, so illustrative of what I’m trying to say, that I actually make a post. Today the New York Times released a podcast that features an interview with a reporter who has lived in Iraq more or less since the Iraq war and has witnessed decay and decline of the underlaying earth systems in that country and in the region, along with the increase in suffering and conflict. The podcast does a good job of connecting the dots and could be a proxy for the Planet In Distress thesis except that it entirely leaves out the predictions of the Bible, the effects of sin on man and earth, and the signs of the return of Christ. Still, it is very worth listening to, if only to lift oneself out of American myopia and get an uncomfortable exposure to what an increasing number of people around the world are facing. You can find the podcast here.
